Growth and Development Consulting
Are you ready to get in touch with what really matters to you? If not now, when?
Here’s the bottom line, upfront: our time is precious. After 24+ years in the fire service, Ben understands this inescapable truth, and is driven to help clarify your values and claim the life you want.
In this program, you will:
Address false narratives and limiting beliefs
Understand personal value systems (get clear on what really matters to you)
Align your goals with those values
Create an intentional and purposeful future
Using the following core principles, you’ll determine your values and create strategies to live in alignment with them:
Congruence
Congruence is when your life (ie: what you're doing with your time) is aligned with your values. When our core values are reflected in the work we do, we experience the calming, sustaining and fulfilling impact of congruence. For example, if you value service, congruence occurs when you are able to spend time each day helping others.
Generativity
Generativity means giving back or leaving a legacy. The opposite of generativity is stagnation. It comes from our innate desire to matter, to connect and serve others by giving value. We do this by mentoring, teaching, and leading others from what we know.
Self-Actualization
At the top of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, self-actualization is the desire to continually improve ourselves. The more we experience self-actualization, the more motivation and energy we have to continue seeking it. The act of pursuing our best self helps us grow to feel true fulfillment.
The Five Components of Flourishing
Do you feel like you are looking outward to feel satisfaction? True fulfillment can only be found by looking inward.
As we pursue growth and development, we use the following principles to guide our work.
Positive Emotions
Emotions are feelings we have in response to our surroundings or our thoughts. When we cultivate positive emotions, we’re more productive, creative and connected.
Engagement
Engagement relates to your interest. What holds your attention? Identifying what makes you feel engaged with the external world will allow you to thrive internally.
Relationships
Authentic relationships allow us to show up as ourselves without fear of shame or disconnection. Authentic relationships provide external strength and allow us to process information.
Accomplishment
Accomplishment is an internal driver. It is the sense that you have overcome a challenge and done your best. It drives a virtuous cycle of increased self-worth, energy and engagement.
Meaning
Meaning relates to what is relevant to you and why, moving us toward self-actualization. Meaning connects us to that which is bigger than ourselves, allowing us to take action and connect with our highest selves.
The Five Components of Flourishing are taken from Martin Seligman’s work, “Flourish”.
